First Sunday in Advent

Thank you all for reading along at Circling the Story about life around the table. During December I’ll be sharing some thoughts related to the story of Jesus and His coming.

It’s a story full of meaning in the unlikeliest of places. Where God comes near in unplanned pregnancy, and hardship, and unexpected guests attend the birth. It’s a story that shows us that God is not for the perfectionist or the popular, but that he meets us in our sorrow, in our hard days and in the joy that is borne out of suffering. It’s a miraculous and upside-down economy of grace where freedom, joy and peace come from insignificance. It’s a journey that we take on the way to celebrating the joy that comes at Christmas.

I hope you’ll join me by reading along, commenting and sharing your own thoughts this Advent season.
